'My research interests have been focused on the neuroethology of social behavior and on the cognitive processes underlying it. In the last ten years my main focus has been the role of parietal and premotor cortical functions in relation to social cognition in macaques. In particular, I'm interested in the role of mirror neurons in monkey social behaviour. My work is mainly focus on the developmental landmarks and behavioral factors that modulate their functions. Understanding the developmental trajectory of these mechanisms has the potential to provide major new insights into the pathophysiological basis for neurodevelopmental disorders in humans.'
