LINGAUDIO- Annie MOULIN

Linguistic material for auditory diagnosis and remediation

This audio and linguistic material is intended not only for auditory diagnostic exploration but also for the optimization and evaluation of any hearing rehabilitation procedure (conventional or implanted hearing aids). Indeed, the most widely used method today to assess speech perception in clinical practice is speech audiometry, which consists of having a patient listen to words, one by one, and ask them to repeat them. However, the existing linguistic material in French was developed in the 1950s and 1960s and is outdated and no longer meets the criteria of evidence-based medicine. Our audio and linguistic material has been designed to achieve equivalence between word list difficulties, in terms of psycholinguistic, acoustic and psychometric factors, with the realization of psychometric curves for each word in a population of normo-hearing subjects. Thus, our linguistic and acoustic equipment is specifically adapted to audiology and audioprosthetic practice in France.
